Blue Jacket District Mission & Focus for the Future

The mission of the Blue Jacket District of the Dan Beard Council is to prepare the young people of the district to make ethical choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law. 

Our overriding purpose is to offer a fun and meaningful Scout experience for all available youth in our district.  To fulfill our mission and purpose, our focus is to:

1. Deliver quality programs at the Unit and District level
2. Fill all Volunteer vacancies with trained and capable individuals
3. Secure financial contributions commensurate with a fun and meaningful scouting experience

Enthusiastic skilled leaders at the unit level are the key drivers of our continued success.  This will grow participation, which will result in greater membership growth.  We are working on the following actions to support and increase the current number of enthusiastic, skilled leaders:

1. Build connections through roundtables
2. Identify and learn from current enthusiastic skilled leaders
3. Improve our training process to further increase unit level leader skills
4. Advertise, advertise, advertise our programs and training
